The 48th Annual Conference of the Operations Research Society of South Africa (ORSSA) will take place at the The Vineyard Hotel, in Cape Town, South Africa, from 8 - 11 September, 2019. The Conference is a celebration of the Society's 50th anniversary.

An optional tutorial will be held on Sunday afternoon 8 September, followed by a welcome reception that same evening. The main conference will start Monday morning 9 September and will close at lunchtime on Wednesday, 11 September. We are again excited to also include a poster session at this year's conference.

Participation over the full spectrum of Operations Research is encouraged, including presentations and posters of a more fundamental nature, application of Operations Research techniques in business and industry, topical issues in Operations Research, and the philosophy, teaching and marketing of Operations Research.

Professor M Grazia Speranza, the President of IFORS (International Federation of Operational Research Societies), and Professor Gerhard Geldenhuys, founding member of ORSSA, are the keynote speakers at this year's conference. They are both exceptional OR practitioners and we look forward to their keynote addresses.

Delegates are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements. The local organising committee has arranged competitive rates for conference delegates at The Vineyard Hotel.

Exciting sponsorship opportunities are available. The official sponsorship booklet is available here.

The LOC is excited to announce its partnership with the following sponsors: Centre for Business Mathematics and Informatics, NWU, Deparment of Industrial Engineering, SU, Department of Logistics, SU, Blue Stallion Technologies, School for Industrial Engineering, NWU, and Pivot Sciences.
